Innovation Grants will be awarded for up to $10,000 with the focus on the impact of EAS on social, physical, cognitive, mental, emotional and/or spiritual aspects of participants.

We are currently not accepting proposals for Innovation Grants.

Innovation grants are designed to provide funding for innovative ideas to advance our knowledge, understanding, and application of Equine- assisted Services (EAS).  These proposals should be aimed at generating data to provide validation of a novel approach or idea.  HHRF serves as a catalyst to advance global knowledge of horse-human interactions and their impact on the health and well-being of people and horses.  The maximum project duration is 12 months, and the budget cannot exceed $10,000.  Applicants are required to use correct Equine-assisted Services (EAS) terminology (available at horsesandhumans.org) and to follow the Guidelines and Information document.

The goal of this grant is to connect practice with scientific knowledge by supporting innovative research with high-impact potential that might not be funded through traditional channels. Our intent is to stimulate exploration, encourage the testing of hypotheses, and generate preliminary data that will open new pathways for future research.

Applications passing all procedural and eligibility requirements are reviewed and ranked by members of the HHRF Scientific Review Committee, who represent areas of expertise relevant to the project. HHRF's Board of Directors will then review recommendations from the Scientific Review Committee and make final funding decisions.
