Kara Moser Kennon

Kara Moser Kennon is a disabled Army veteran, veterinary technician, and Path International credentialed Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL). Her involvement in equine-assisted services began as a veteran participant and expanded into volunteering; she is now going into her fourth term with Americorps through Equist in Dallas, Texas. Kara combines her experience in equine-assisted services with a background in veterinary medicine, art and design, community outreach, and veteran programming, she is passionate about strengthening the connection between research, practice, equine-well-being, and the lived experiences of the people these programs serve. Fun Fact: According to Kara she is a total nerd when it comes to researching things especially involving the horse and human connection.

"The human-horse bond changed the direction of my own life. HHRF’s mission matters to me because research gives us the ability to understand that connection, protect the well-being of the horse, and responsibly bring its benefits to more people."
