A therapeutic riding professional since 1988, I'm certified as a PATH Intl CTRI, Equine Specialist (lead instructor of ES certification training), as well as past president of EFMHA, and a past member of the PATH Intl Equine Welfare committee. I spent eleven years developing and conducting an equine assisted learning program in human development for at-risk teens and adults in transition, published in 2007 by New World Library: Riding into Your Mythic Life: Transformational Adventures with the Horse. Since then my work has focused on deepening the horse/human relationship for creating a world that works for everyone, with an emphasis on body-based modalities, story-telling, and liberty training with horses for eliciting their willingness, wisdom, and enthusiasm for complex interactions with people. I've been director and head instructor for two PATH Intl premier accredited therapeutic riding centers, the Saddle Light Center in San Antonio, and HOPE Equestrian Center in southern OR. I founded the nonprofit organization Riding Beyond in 2013 in Ashland, OR, whose mission is to help people recovering from the traumatic after-effects of breast cancer treatment, long COVID, wildfires and other environmental trauma through the horse/human connection. I also enjoy bringing visual brilliance through web and print media to the deeper vision of those whose work makes a positive difference in our world. See trishbroersma.com
