Ivette Torres Placa

Ivette Torres Placa is a third year Clinical Psychology student at Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico.  She is interested in working with at-risk populations, particularly in the areas of suicidal behavior, violence, and substance use.  Ivette recently completed her certification in Equine-Assisted Therapy and hopes to continue learning so she can integrate horses into interventions for these populations.   As a PhD student, she is passionate about research and is currently involved in projects related to sexual violence and suicidal behavior.  In the future, she would like to integrate these topics into Equine-Assisted Services (EAS) research to help expand the evidence base for this field

"I have always loved horses and being a part of HHRF will help me to share the magic of horses with the world."
